I'll be forever grateful...if you chance me (an IB student).

Basically, I'm a senior.
asian
male

GPA: 4.0

IB Diploma Candidate--that'd be awesome if anyone (with actual experience of some sort) could speak about how much this will improve my chances.

Taking all IB classes this year except 1 (Intro to marketing--an easy class but it follows my interests so i guess its okay)

Last year i took 2 tests
Chemistry SL: 5
French SL: 4 (as a French 3 student so that i could get french over with)

planning on testing in
HL Math
HL History
HL English
SL Business and Marketing

im normally a good writier so please don't give me crap about it.

SATII
dear god...im not even gonna show you what i got the first time.
i had some family issues the day before (yeah, tough luck. but seriously...i did)
took chemistry
and math 2
sucked ass
gonna take math 2 again
and history
(can the 5 on the IB test be sufficient to make up for the horrible chem subject test? im not retaking it...it's been wayy too long).

Brief summary of my ec's:
Editorial Assistance for Real Change Newspaper: 11,12; 1.5-2 hours a week
Working for my parents at their barber shop: 12 hours a week since...god knows how long
Vera Project (all ages live music) volunteer: just sfound out about it this year; might get around 40 hours by january
JV Swim: 200+ hours per season; 10,11,12

as you can tell, i don't really have that much going on. mainly due to working the majority of my free time, but i found time to squeez stuff in here and there. hopefully they'll understand (but im no writing an essay solely about this to make people feel sorry). i just don't want them to think i started doing stuff my junior and senior years just to make up for my lack of activities. my essay will explain (to some extent) personal growth and discovery over the past few years of high school (maybe in a creative way?).

i also did my IB Extended Essay in Economics about vinyl records (hopefully you see the trend in my classes/interests)

basically, im not riding on ridiculous test scores to get me anywhere. but one or two things might stand out?

i would love to stay in the west coast (California). I'm from Washington.
These are mostly high match to reach schools. Shootin' for the stars baby (and yes, i have backup schools that i would be willing to attend)

Schools:
Stanford
Berkeley (kinda sucks that i can't use my superscore)
UCLA
USC

UCSD
UC Davis
Occidental

Chicago
Northwestern
Vanderbilt
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
U Penn

im particularly interested in people who aren't just arbitrarily chancing me based on their experience chancing other people.

but, hey. i'll take what i can get.

bump dat shizz

i also went on a humanitarian trip over the summer.

your SATs are killing your app like no other man
if u can get them at 2100+ then u have a serious shot everywhere

plz return the favor
