<p>The numbers are so staggering that even the best get cut. Your generation is competing in an unbelievably pressure filled environment. Who knows why you did not get it-but I’m sure it was not about what you lacked but what someone else offered (needed more males, more athletes, more math majors, etc.). Use your talents and work hard with whatever you options become. You’ll be fine.</p>

<p>Your stats are good but they’re not perfect… and even the perfect applicants can’t complain when they get turned away from top 20 schools like Northwestern or an Ivy League… It’s just so competetive now that the difference between getting in and not getting in could be a few meaningful and memorable lines of your Common App essay that make an admissions officer lobby for your acceptance.</p>
