:)

You can probably start by spelling correctly. Or just improve your English overall. It must be your third language.

First, don’t listen too much to people like the above person…shake them off.
Second, the ap classes is a good thing. Also try to test out of as many intro level classes as you can, if your school offers that. It will open up valuable room in your schedule later.
Third, don’t spend your entire life on this website. Don’t base all your decisions or opportunities off this site. Take it with a grain of salt…but I am trying to be sincere here.
Fourth. DO NOT WORRY if you don’t play a sport. Debate and color guard are fine. Don’t force yourself to do anything you wouldn’t want to do for an admissions board.
Fifth, on a more social regard, don’t try to be friends with everyone you meet. No one really knows each other freshman year. Don’t be surprised if your best friends freshman year are the ones you avoid sophomore year. And since my phone is stupid, the words avoid sophomore year are going to be after this sentence… Ignore that. avoid sophomore year.

My only real advice is to stay off this website. If Socrates’ storm of critical thinking on Athens’ youth (a.k.a. “corrupting them”) merited drinking hemlock, then this website deserves nothing less than to be burned at the stake. It sucks your soul and makes you into a hypertensive hyperactive overachieving puppet for the Ivy money farm.

^ +1

Stay off this website. It seems like you’ve been sucked in too early. Try enjoying your life and doing what you think is best for you.

If you don’t do that … I’m sorry to say that no university would like to have someone who is just an image of another person.

Be yourself.

Guys, this website can be very useful. Don’t give this person the wrong impression. It’s just that you need to be able to navigate through it without taking offensive to the cynics, and you must be aware of what is truly good, helpful facts, and what is over-exaggerated bullcrap that’s meant to scare everyone.

^And how is a freshman in high school supposed to be able to do that? CC can be a helpful source, yes, but it’s too easy to find the self-aggrandizing pricks (of which I am one) who dominate message and chance boards. I think it’s best to use CC as a reference tool, if you use it at all. No need for an account really.

first relax. don’t worry about college yet. you seem very focused so you should be fine. just don’t worry too much and keep doing what you’re doing. you’re not even in high school yet. don’t think about these things

I envy you more than you can ever imagine. Im a senior and the onset of college is breaking my heart. Part of me never wants to leave high school.

My point is, enjoy these next four years. They’ll flash by in seconds.

^College rocks so hard. Trust me >D

It’s nice to see that you’re already so concerned about your future as a HS pre-frosh.
My advice to you is:
- Athletics are not that important…distinguish yourself in other places
- Pick up a copy of Cal Newport’s How to be a High School Superstar
- Follow his advice…which means don’t go overboard with AP classes, take what you can handle, take what’s considered a ‘tough’ course load at your HS, but please don’t try to take 6 AP classes and self study 4 more…
- Be nice to everyone, make friends with people that you have things in common with. Being friends with everyone is quite frankly not that fulfilling or enjoyable. Be openminded though, and don’t judge people without getting to know them somewhat.
- Enjoy the ride! Make friends, chill, do teenagerish things, and DON’T stalk this website for hours a day.

It’s a tool, for sure and come in handy (I used it as a frosh myself) but no need to spend more than an hour a week on the site. the SAT/ACT prep forum is especially helpful, the parents forum somewhat. Of course, if you’re interested in specific universities or colleges, those subforums are great too. I highly recommend that you stay away from chance threads and also avoid the ‘boasting threads’ on HSL.

Good luck!

Mainly just join extracurricular activities and be sure to demonstrate passion

thanks everyone…
