Hey!

I got into Revelle for ChemE - but my first choice was the impacted Bioengineering major.

What, if anything, can I do to get into Bioengineering? I don't think
there's a way to change into the major, but is there a waitlist of some sort?

I'm gonna call the admissions people tomorrow, just to talk over my options, but I'd gladly take any advice anyone can offer.

Thanks.

spots will open up in bioengineering as people leave (i was one of them). you can add into the major if your grades make it, the approval process won't start until after you've accumulated enough credits to petition it. they won't do anything if you're not a matriculated student!

(a surefire way to get into that major would be to do stellar research for one of the BE bigwigs, and get him to back up your petition ...)

astrina, are you talking about BioE/BioE: Biotech or the BioE: Premed. If you were referring to BioE/BioE: Biotech could you describe exactly the process of how to get in. Thanks.

i left BE:PM, but you have to wait until you're far along enough in your UCSD career that you can convince them you're a smart-enough cookie and can handle their major.

transfer procedures should be on their website. but seeing as there's nothing you can do in the meantime but working on your grades, i'd say to not worry.

^ There is no official way to get into the impacted BioE/BioE: Biotech majors. There are also some disadvantages to the BioE: Premed route that you can read about there.
