People were doing this all over the place before ED decisions came out, dedicating their 100th posts or their 1000th posts (ahem, pk). It seemed a little silly at first, but I surrender to the silly customs of the Princeton forum/CC in general.

I know that the little Princeton "ED family" has kind of disintegrated since decisions came out, but everyone on this forum has always been so kind and helpful. Our games are the best and our habit of going off on COMPLETELY random tangents is amusing and appreciated.

I was really rooting for a lot of you, and many of my favorites were accepted and at the same time many of my favorite people were deferred. All of you are amazing, accomplished, talented people and while I hate to be cliche and say that "you'll end up somewhere excellent no matter what," it really is true. I hope that each and every one us can find a place at Princeton next year. Don't stop trying.

I'm pretty ridiculous with this overly-sentimental little speech, but I do love everybody on this forum and it will always be my favorite place to be on CC. Princeton is a wonderful place and I love it as much as I love yall.

And generally this post is just full of possibly-excessive love.

Haha I love how awe (and awwww)-inspiring I am.
And how UTTERLY stupid that bad play on words was.
Oh well, I'm going crazy with RD apps and all of the awwws make me feel better.

haha I know the feeling.
I've decided to only apply to one school that's due on the 1st.
But I still keep writing and rewriting the essay.
So yeah, it's driving me crazy!

Most of my schools are due on the 1st or the 2nd. You really use the same essays for each one, basically, so I'm just trying to get my set of 2-3 essays and short answers done.

I've tried to write new essays for my other college apps for a MONTH, but they were all horrible, so I've submitted 2 today using my Princeton essay. Because I like it so much. =)

Question for the original ED family :). How did this board get so fun and addictive? What discussions did we have? I need ideas for my Oxford "get to know your classmates" facebook group, lol.

I was a semi-member of the ED family, as in I was in the family but not in the ED part, or at least, I think so.

Our games were fun. That question game was pretty addicting even though it started off really simply. I also think that there were so many completely random tangential topics...for example, my first Princeton chances thread turning into a conversation between OMZ and me making fun of dumb things we could write on our UT essays. And the first OFFICIAL ACTUALLY OFFICIAL REAL DEAL ED ROSTER/THREAD being scrapped after like a week because nobody could stop commenting on it.

I think you should start the question game and the word association game to begin with...and I guess encourage people to be random and not feel like they have to stick to the "rules" of internet forums all the time.

yeah, it was just our amazingness and tendency to go off on tangents. for some reason we just have a relaxed environment here, not like some other uptight stressed forums.

but nelle... is it a facebook group for all oxford applicants who were just admitted? (like not for one specific college?) cause if it is, can you link it here? because my friend got in and i want to make her join the facebook group :D

Haha once again our randomness prevails as we begin a thread talking about how much I love everyone and Princeton and it ends up with discussion of an Oxford facebook group.

Honestly, THIS is why the Princeton forum is the best one.
