Imaginary roommate asks how if he should know anything about me

well if you have a single and he's gonna be loud every night just get nice speakers or headphones to fade him out because at least he's not in your room doing it.

Ilikedice- it's impossible for me to study in the library because any noise or movement makes me lose track of what I'm doing. Even on the silent floors, people walk past, turn pages, cough, etc. I can't focus. In my dorm room, it's different because I can shut the door and I'm in my own little focus bubble. Even if there are noises outside of my room, I don't have the visual of it so I don't get distracted. My roommate did not respect my need for silence when I studied (she studied with her iPod plugged into a stereo and refused to buy earplugs) or my need to keep the door closed, so I tried to go to the library several times. It would take me half an hour to read one page because I couldn't focus.

And just about partying in the room- people don't just not party because of studying. I don't drink and do not like being around people who do. Should I have to flee my room because I have a roommate who can't find somewhere else to drink?

With a single, it shouldn't be that bad. At least you don't have to share a room with the person.

SilverClover: On a weekend, if your roomate can respect your decision not to drink, can't you respect his decision to drink? And I mean, if you're holed up in your room on a Friday night, can't you just go to the library or something? You can probably do whatever you were doing there, but you can't really play kings at the library.
