I'm a junior majoring in Aerospace Engineering and since my freshman year I always planned on mioring in math. I've been thinking about it recently, and while I'm almost done with the minor, I was wondering if it will actually help me at all - either when getting hired by a company or making me a stronger applicant for grad school or scholarships. Would grad schools think I'm a more impressive applicant if I had the math minor, or would it be a marginal thing and they would focus on other parts of my application package? Thanks!

I graduated an Aerospace major and a Math minor, but I don't think it necessarily hepls when it comes to job prospect or graduate school admissions. I kind of took it because I was always interested in Math, and I was only three classes away from being a minor anyway. As I said, I don't think it direcly helped with grad school admissions or getting a job, but it's something nice to have to complement your skills anyway (i.e., knowing how to read or write mathematical proofs helps a lot for writing research papers or when reviewing literatures for research).

For grad school, it probably only helps if you want to switch disciplines and you happen to have done a minor in said discipline. Eg, If I studied history in undergrad and did an economics minor and then wanted to do an MSc in Economics, it might help. Otherwise, it is mostly irrelevant. Probably useful if you want to do interdisciplinary stuff too, but otherwise, not relevant.
