<p>As the test is administered more and more I think it becomes statistically significant to the schools and they are starting to take it into consideration.</p>
<p>Since the test was new it was expected that a lot of people would not do well and it was not interpreted as a bad mark. How about the students that aced it? Would it count as a "better than good+" mark?</p>
<p>I hope so - my D got a 12 on the essay and an 800 in the section. It was the one section that I worried about on her behalf since it was such an unknown. I saw a thread a while back about how one of the rather selective schools was finding it to be an extremely effective marker for success in college. Some complain that it is easily coached. To me, that makes it a "good marker for future success." After all, we are talking about college, learning, education -- not always intrinsic ability. Also, I think the real time essay under controlled conditions is invaluable to check the authenticity of the application essays. Lots of ghost writing and heavy handed editing goes on with those.</p>
