I am applying to schools where subject tests are recommended or required.
I am looking into CS at these schools.
How much of an effect does strong subject tests score make?
I have an 800 in Math 2, 780 in Chem. Haven’t taken physics yet but will likely score 780+.
Thanks
Less important than transcript and SAT/ACT scores.
Little to none, IMO. More like a bad score can hurt you, but an excellent score will not make up for shortfalls elsewhere.
Besides, you got great scores, so no need to worry. And unless your prospective college requires/recommends physics, or you are applying to Georgetown, no need to take a 3rd test - focus on other parts of the application.
You can stop worrying & taking subject test unless you are applying someplace that wants 3 (like Georgetown). Go focus on ECs or essays or grades.
I know this is difficult and is somewhat of an immature question, but if you had to quantify the weight of them as a percent, what would you place them at? I know gpa and sat/act combine for like 60-80% depending on school, but would subject tests be like 5%?

by definition you can’t quantify it on holistic admissions
Agreed. It’s small, IMO, but that’s about the best answer as you will get.
