To start off I would just like to clarify that this is not my situation I would just like to know the circumstances of a situation like this. I’m wondering if it would be easier to transfer from a school like UPENN to say a harvard or dartmouth if you maintained high grades in your time at UPENN than it would be say from a Wake Forest(or some other good but not top 20 school) if you maintained the same grades that you did at UPENN. Less specifically I’m wondering if the current reputation of the college you are transferring from can help you at all in the process. Thanks!
Any answer would be greatly appreciated. bump

If you were at an ivy, why would you want to transfer to another ivy? Look in the Common Data Set of each college to see if they even take transfers, and how many.
If you have the stats for penn it’s likely you also have the stats for dartmouth and harvard. In short yes getting a 4.0 at dartmouth and transferring to cornell would be easier per say than getting a 4.0 at a cc and transferring to cornell. Also as bopper said look at the common data sets for the colleges. Transferring to harvard is MUCH more difficult than applying as a freshman. Some insight: in 2012 Harvard only accepted 15 transfers out of 1448 applicants.
