impressions from I-day and I-day +1

Just got back....what an experience, and I'm just a Plebe mom

It felt great that there were so many Annapolitans (?) who stopped us to support and encourage our Plebe.

If a Plebe (or other Mid) needs something, the Mid store probably does have it.

I was very frustrated that, after sitting for 2 hours to keep an aisle seat (I'm short), I still couldn't see, because a number of people came up at the last minute and stood in the middle of the center aisle through the whole ceremony.

If the Plebes help each other as much as the families who were mailing "care packages" this morning, they will rapidly form a great team!

This morning before leaving town, I observed a bit of the first PEP session. I am really impressed with both '12 and '09! You could tell that the Plebes were trying their best, but during the run, some were having trouble. The Firsties were doing a great job of challenging those in good shape, getting company cadences going, and encouraging/supporting those who clearly hadn't done enough running in prep. The Firsties were checking water levels in canteens, reminding Plebes to hydrate, and generally taking on their leadership roles with energy and enthusiasm. Our Plebes are in great hands.

The cadre always seem to have their stuff on straight... maybe I have a predjudiced position as a former cadre, but their trained to take care of their people.
