I took my SAT in May and got a 700 in CR. I looked at my score reports and realized that I was missing mainly all of the questions on science passages because I get bored while reading them and never understand them. Does anyone have any advice for comprehending and understanding science passages on the SAT? Also on staying engaged during reading boring material and also time management during this section? Just read your way through it. It is boring but you must endure that is the only way 
If you want you can practice on Khan Academy and look up science articles to read on the web just to get used to them
That’s the problem. I would bite my tongue and try to find something interesting in the passage. Anything. I used to dread the history and literature passages. But as I was reading, I got interested in the passage by looking for key information. I agree with the above posters also. There are tons of threads on this topic. Look to them for more help if necessary.
Regarding time per passage, you should be spending on average 13 minutes per passage.
Thats the thing, you must never get interested too much on what you read or else you will miss important information. You must be a incensatized robot when you read these passages
First, the best practice for reading and vocabulary is reading. That is pretty much true of sports, playing computer games, or anything that practice makes perfect. College entrance tests were not designed to be fascinating. Some students may prefer reading science passages. It is difficult to imagine that passages are long enough for a student to become bored or lose interest in reading.
You are probably going to encounter books and reading assignments in college that are complicated or boring. If you learn to read more proficiently, reading this material should be easier. Part of your issue is you. You are responsible for completing readings and profiting from them. Set your preferences aside. You can select something more interesting to read on your own time. If you dont get this problem in hand schooling and work will be challenging.
