IMSA class of 2023

Currently, I am in 8th grade asian girl and have gotten 1300+ (reading/language is higher than math) on my SATs. I live in a non-rural, pretty wealthy area (opposite of Peoria… I’ve heard in the past that if 10 people apply from Peoria, they usually all make it- even if they have lower scores than those from my area… a max of 2 people have been chosen in the past 3 years). What would my chances be on getting accepted into IMSA as a sophomore? I also know that there are quite a lot of smart people in my area that are applying my year. Around how many people are usually picked from these towns?

I’m applying in eight grade for Class of 2023 too! Your SAT score doesn’t matter as much as you think it does, but 1400-1600 is a pretty decent score as long as you express interest in math and science. I have seen people with 1600s get rejected. Btw, after going to the campus tour, I learned that there IMSA isn’t taking location into account anymore.

I’m going to be applying for the Class of 2023 as well, and with what I’ve seen in other IMSA forums and the outcome of it, this website is very useful during the application process. If you want to talk anything related to IMSA on Discord, use Pentahedrics#7221 to send a friend request. I’ll be posting my stats soon.
