In 4/5 months... PREPARATION!

I'm a 11th grader, and am planning to take my first SATs in May/June.
This year (2oo8 technically), I took the PSATs and got a 180 - CR 49, M 77, W 54... so it's really really bad.
I don't think I would need to practice for maths, but I would want to raise the grades especially for CR and W hopefully aiming for about 2100 in the SATs.

I am currently using the Official SAT guide from Collegeboard and doing the practice tests (only the CR and W parts) and after this I am planning to use the Barron's SAT guide.
Currently, I have vaguely memorized vocabulary from Word Smart I+II and am reviewing them again.
For writing/grammar specifically, i am using "The Elements of Style"...
Is this an efficient study/practice method for the SATs aiming at least 2100? Is there anything additional i can do to improve the CR and W? I also want to know if it is worth memorizing the 3500 words (:o) from Barrons after word smart...

I would really appreciate any sort of help with my problem!

bump…

i am seeking for advice…

bump again.

Anybody?

Generic CC Response:

Vocab - Use Rocket Review + Princeton Review Hit Parade + Direct Hits Vol. 1 & Vol. 2
There are a lot of coinciding words, but combined the hit rate is much better than that of Barron’s.

For improving scores:

Look around the threads for the best strategy books.
But most importantly: PRACTICE.
Buy the College Board book (aka the Blue Book), as well as search around for some pirated released exams. You can buy PSATs off the College Board web site. All of these tests will give you a great idea of the exam.
