In a dilemma....Dropping a class second semester.

I have a special circumstance regarding my admissions process, in that I am going back to serve the national service in Singapore for two years. As such, I will only be applying for college in a few years.
Currently, I want to drop AP Calculus second semester due to the workload. I have a B in it, but with two other AP classes (AP Chemistry and AP Statistics), I am worried I will not have the discipline to cycle through all of these classes. The question is, will dropping it matter to colleges and will it severely hurt my chances to get into a good school (such as UCLA)?

I currently have a 3.6 unweighted GPA, 3.95 weighted GPA and a 2050 sat.

Thank you very much for replying.

^bump…

I think if you explain to them this situation, which would make for a very interesting essay btw, they would probably understand.

So yes, if you feel it is necessary to avoid getting a C or below then you should drop it. But don’t do this with more than one class.

Oh…I’m also a senior now, so does that affect anything?

I’m guessing dropping it doesn’t matter much?

Also, going to national service isn’t the prime reason why I’m dropping it. National Service isn’t exactly interfering with school work, so the only reason why I’m dropping AP Calc is because of the work load.
Is that bad? Can I justify it with going back to Singapore for National Service?
Anyway, thank you so much for the responses!

So you already turned in your applications and such? If that is the case, you should be fine. But you might wanna be ready to explain to them why you dropped it, if for some reason they ask.

No, I haven’t turned in my application yet. But I will be turning it in in two years. Anyway, thanks for the responses!
