I am currently a junior high student who is about to become a high schooler in 2 or 3 months. I just need some advice/clarification on a few things regarding Harvard University and Northeastern University. I am hoping to pursue a career in criminal justice so I can become a crime investigator or detective. Harvard University has always been my dream school, however it does not offer any majors in criminal justice. Instead, it is more of an addition to its law school. Northeastern University on the other hand is one of the best universities in the nation when criminal justice is involved. Is it possible for me to attend Harvard full time and yet only take classes regarding criminal justice at Northeastern? Is that what they call a part time student?
P.S. I know that it is very difficult to enroll into Harvard. If I get rejected i will just rely on Northeastern.
No, you can only matriculate to one university at a time. Please don’t pick colleges at this point in your life. Trying to work out nonsensical situations is a waste of time. You are focusing on the wrong things. Focus on making yourself an excellent student who will have good choices of colleges open to them because you do well academically, you have interests you pursue and do things to make yourself sharp mentally and physically. When you are in high school and have a better handle on your own abilities and work ethic you can start to explore different colleges and find out what kind of features they have that appeal to you and your interests at the time. You will need more that 2 colleges to apply to. So pay attention to the important things. It isn’t important to pick colleges when you are in Jr high instead of reading good books, which will help your future far far more.
I meant to add do pursue finding materials about forensic science geared to students around your age and up. Also chemistry and biology in general. You might enjoy Imagine Magazine, check their facebook page, they highlight different areas in each issue and show student that solve problems in a variety of areas. Working on any problem solving issue is a great learning experience that leads to skills. And each issue has suggestions on how to pursue interests. Also each issue highlights a different college. I think you can order back issues of topics of interest.
