<p>It’s your HS, not colleges that define who is a Val. And schools differ widely in how they determine who is a Val.</p>
<p>But don’t worry about it one way or another, Val has relatively little/if any weight when it comes to very selective colleges because the applicant pool is at such a high level.</p>
<p>you’re both considered very motivated students who are taking demanding schedules and exceeding at them. That’s all you should care about.</p>
