Include class rank

I’m planning to apply to a range of colleges, including some reach schools and can’t decide if I should ask my GC to include my class rank along with my transcripts.

Currently my school only reports decile, and I’m in the 1st. I’m in a competitive science/engineering program in a large public HS with 430 seniors. My current rank is 8. I also have GPA UW 3.96, weighted 5.23. andI got a 35 on ACT and 1560 on SAT.

I’ve heard that schools like Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Brown, only want kids that are ranked in the top 3, so I’m really not sure whether to just go with the decile or include rank. Any opinions or advice would be appreaciated.

If the HS give you the option to include on transcript, sure. If they don’t put on the transcript, no.

If HS policy is not to include rank on transcript, nothing you do will change their mind.
