I’m not sure exactly what you’re talking about. Are you talking about access codes or digital textbooks? Or something else?
Whether you need access codes depends on the class and the professor. All my foreign language classes have required them so far, and one of my gen chem professors (Enderle) required it but the other two didn’t. For other classes, check the syllabus.
As far as digital textbooks, I’ve always bought the physical textbooks and haven’t run into problems. That one should come down to personal choice in most cases.
