Increasing my chances of NYU Stern?

<p>I would like to get into NYU Stern, my grades have been nearly straight A's freshman and sophmore, 1 C, 6B's, rest A's junior year, 3.8 unweighted, 4.1 weighted GPA.</p>

<p>As a senior I'm taking
AP Comp Sci
AP Calculus BC
AP Econ/Gov
Forensics (Speech & Debate Team)
Chinese 3</p>

<p>My SAT is a meager 1730. Would I increase my chances of getting into NYU Stern and other top schools, by taking AP Lit, or taking regular lit and spending that time to practice and increase my SAT score???</p>

<p>I would def look to bump up that SAT score. Have you taken other AP courses or SAT Subject tests? Also, what kind of ECs do you have?</p>

<p>Your SAT scores are on the lowside so increase that, and I think you have a decent shot at Stern. Good luck!</p>

4 AP World history (a,a)</p>

<p>EC:
1 yr marching band
3rd year speech and debate
2yrs swim team</p>

<p>Also, because of schedule conflicts, I couldn’t take AP Comp Sci this year, so should I take early dismissal and leave school early to study for SATs and do college apps, or should I take another class? AP Stat? i could also take some other regular sciences like physio but most of the time these classes dont do anything</p>

<p>I don’t wanna sound mean, but I think it’ll be very tough for you to get into NYU unless you have really good essays and recommendations. You don’t have many ECs, and your SAT is low.
