Independent Concentrations?

Hello, can someone please elaborate on this concept? I really want to major in Molecular Biology but I also want to study Comp Sci, but there is no certificate for it. So, would this independent concentration thing or whatever help me in this situation? Thank you :)

There’s a certificate in Applications of Computing, which is basically the same thing.

Wow, that is very helpful, thank you. But still, I would like to know what it is

Most people I know in independent concentrations are expanding on an existing program that hasn’t reached major status (linguistics, neuroscience) or are merging two very disparate fields (e.g. computer science and philosophy).
