indexing merit awards

<p>On a page discussing the new "tuition adjustment" Grinnell mentions a new policy of "indexing merit awards." Does anyone know what that means?</p>

<p>I assume that they mean that the merit awards will go up from year to year to adjust, at least in part, for the significant tuition increase Grinnell will be implementing in each of the next several years.</p>
