Indian applying for Ivies + Stanford + MIT post here

@michaelite Thanks a lot :slight_smile:

@michaelite‌ One more thing, so which will be given more importance 11th or 12th because as you see my 11th grade results are not that good and the reason as I mentioned is because I was focusing too much on an app which I was developing then. And do you think mentioning this reason in the application essay is a good idea?

@Deebthik‌ Yes 11th and 12th grade marks will be given more important than 9th and 10th grade marks, but to tell the truth and 86% is not ‘bad’ , but then again considering that you are applying to some of the top schools, you could consider explaining it in one of your essays. And considering your brilliant EC’s there is no reason why they shouldn’t understand. But, give your best and aim for a 95% in your 12th midterms, I have heard that they are important in the process.

@michaelite Yeah sure. And one last thing, do you think I should go with REA or Regular application?

@Deebthik‌ If you can complete all the requirements, ie, all essays, recommendations,etc
apply early/EA to one or two colleges, infact as many as Common App allows, as the acceptance rates are much higher
However from what I know you can apply early to only one college through Common App, so I would say apply to your dream school early, and apply in regular action to all others
 But then again that decision you will have to make yourself.

@michaelite OK, thanks a lot for the help :slight_smile:

@Deebthik‌ Hi! I am a 11th grader who will be applying to colleges in the US this year too. I am taking the SAT on 24th. When are you planning to take the SAT?

@mumbai98 I am planning to take the SAT in September after thorough preparation and practice tests

@Deebthik The SAT can only be given in the months of January, March (US only), May, June, October, November and December.

@DarkEclipse‌ October then

Cool.

@Deebthik‌

Try to get the SAT done with by June. You do have Oct. for a retake option, but if you can get it done by June, saves you a lot of headache, and allows you to concentrate a bit towards 12th boards as well.

@hezekiel‌ Yeah that’s true, Thanks.
