<p>I am currently considering transferring to IU for the spring of 2013. I am very interested in joining a fraternity,but am not sure if there is a rush period in January. I know a couple of freshman who rushed at the beginning of the school year, but am not positive if there is a rush week at the beginning of the 2nd semester.
May someone please explain to me if there is a rush week after winter break? If not, would incoming sophomores be allowed to rush beginning in the fall of 2013? Additionally, how difficult is it to get a bid?</p>

<p>There is spring rush, but the classes are generally smaller and tend to be made up of guys who knew brothers, but it is possible to get a bid without that connection. </p>

<p>There won’t be anything on the IU IFC website this early, but I’d keep an eye on that for more details about spring rush. If you have any specific chapters you’re interested in for whatever reason (academics, religion, etc.), I would get in touch with their rush chairs and say that you’re transferring and are interested in them for spring rush</p>
