Individually Designed Major

I was wondering how hard it is to enter the program of for designing your own major. I want to design a major around nursing but I am not sure how feasible that would be, considering that it is not exactly an interdisciplinary major. I've heard of students at Stanford who have designed majors around the theories of powers or something like that so I believe designing a nursing major wouldn't be disproved.

If any has any information regarding individually designed majors I would very much appreciate your input. Thank you!

You can major in human biology and your area of concentration can be Nursing.

That's probably the best way to go. I've heard that IDMs can be really obnoxious, even pre-approved IDMs. Human Biology allows so much flexibility that that should easily work out.

IDMs are annoying mostly for their requirement of getting three advisors, and having all of them sign off on your picked courses. Try looking at that humbio option first, it's pretty well designed, from what I've heard.
