At this point, no PPW is not official, but Plebes can get all that "stuff" at the mid store, or parents can send it.

If they have liberty, parents can meet up with them and have time to share. No PPW means no official ceremony or activities, not "no contact". Just because the Plebe recognition week has been "disestablished" does not mean that parents cannot spend time with their children when they have time during intercessionals.
Remember that not all parents can afford to be there for PPW, so not all families were present in the past.

People will have to be creative, I guess.

OK CM,
Please tell us where you got your info. If it was your Mid, where did he/she hear this? Do you consider his/her source credible? or just part of the rumor mill? I just don't want to get too PO'ed based on a rumor.

This is posted on the GA Parents Club Site and was sent from the Alumni Association's Parent Coordinator (At least she still has a job so parents are not obsolete yet!)

Message From The USNA AA Parent Coordinator:
I am waiting on “official” word from the Yard with regards to Plebe Recognition Week, Commissioning Week, Plebe Parents Weekend and First Class Parents Weekend. There has been no decision made as to changes being made, cancellations, etc. I am getting several e-mails from parents that they are hearing from a variety of other sources that decisions have been made. I can assure you that they have not.

Along with the USNA administration, we are the only official resource sanctioned to release information as to changes in activities. We are working closely with those on the Yard that can provide us the correct information.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know. I look forward to providing the information when it is made available.

The following is my reply from USNA Admissions when I wrote and asked about PPW:

"We will definitely have a PPW. I am not certain that the dates have been finalized."

I guess it all comes down to what you mean by "PPW".

Can't imagine it will resemble the PPW for the class of 2010 in anything but name only.
Heck- make your own PPW. We do- every time we get to go down and visit!!!! :)
