Industrial Engineering @ Georgia Tech

Hello everybody,

I am a business major; however, I am planning to switch to the Supply Chain track in the Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech because I find Supply Chain very appealing. However, recently I find out that Georgia Tech also has the Operations & Supply Chain major in their business school. Could anyone explain the difference between two Supply Chain programs please?

Thank you.

The ISyE major is more about crunching the numbers and modeling. ISyE has a lot of probability, statistics, and optimization. Supply chain engineers might be doing a lot of really serious analytical work to figure out how to make something .01% cheaper or faster, while the business majors will be learning more about the microeconomics and management aspects.
