industrial engineering/operations research

Hi. I'm thinking of doing a double major of industrial/operations engineering and business, and then I want to get a masters in financial engineering and an mba. Is it worth it to do both these double majors? Also, if I only did the industrial/operations engineering (i dont think this is a popular major, why?) is it difficult to get a job? Would it be better to just get an undergrad degree in business? Lastley is operations managment at all simmilar to operations engineering?

Thanks so much

P.S. I would do this at Umich..

I'm thinking about doing Industrial engineering as well, but I don't know what it entails exactly. I don't think it's necessary to double major.... it would be a brutal courseload.

bumpp.......

if you are math and computer oriented, IE/OR is a good field. When I graduated from Columbia U. IE/OR years ago, there were quite a lot of jobs in the industry (big companies) taking IE/OR graduates. I think it's a good idea to pursue a MBA degree after you get the IE/OR college degree in order to broaden your career horizon.
