Adding to the first post about Honors College tours…

If you want a full day tour - which includes meeting with Honors College faculty and faculty from intended major(s), then your campus visit has to be during the week. Faculty aren’t available on weekends for meetings

So, if you have to travel a distance, then it may be best to arrive on Sat/Sun and tour on Monday, or arrive on Thursday night and tour on Friday, and then leave over the weekend.

Upperclassmen can buy tix pkgs with all the home games. Frosh buy “half pkgs”…either A or B. Each half pack usually has at least one highly desirable game.

here is info for how frosh can get tix to the OTHER home games.

College of Engineering Does Amateur Radical Theater (you do NOT have to be an eng’g major to participate…all are welcome!!)

Each year, this group puts on one show per semester (maybe more now?). They do a very good job. It is a great way for students to have clean fun, meet friends, and get to do something that may be a bit out of their comfort zones. ;)

My older son did this w/o any prior drama experience. It was amazing to see him perform and even do a few solos.

My son, a Tennessee resident, has a 30 ACT, 3.9 unweighted GPA and has been accepted into the engineering program and honors college what type of scholarship money should he most likely get. He did also attend the honors college camp this last summer ( not really relevant, but he is in love with Alabama).
Thanks so much!!!

I might have missed the suggestions, but could anyone suggest a hotel or area to stay at in Birmingham? We will be flying into there and will need one night stay before traveling to Tuscaloosa. It doesn’t need to be fancy just clean and in a nice area.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn Mountain Brook this summer. It’s has restaurants within walking distance and it’s close to downtown and the UAB campus area. Also look at Hoover, near the mall area. There’s an Embassy Suites and lots of restaurants, and it’s right off !-459.

Long story made short…my husband and I are flying in on Friday, we had to change my D’s flight to Saturday so she could attend a school function Friday. We will have 24 hrs to ourselves before she lands on Saturday. So we might visit UAB or wander around checking out the town. I don’t need to be right by the airport but we will be getting in around rush hour, will need to find a hotel and get dinner. Any suggestions for us are appreciated.
