<p>HONORS COLLEGE CAMPUS VISITS (for those who will likely qualify for the HC)</p>

<p>Welcome: Do try to visit Bama…We think you’ll be very impressed by all the new facilities and the beautiful campus.</p>

<p>If you do visit, first set up the campus tour online…try for an early morning time! Don’t bother with the “info session”, you’ll get that info here pretty much on the Alabama forum on College Confidential which is VERY active. By skipping the Info Session, the people in the HC will have more time to schedule meetings with profs, etc. </p>

<p>THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA SCHOLARSHIPS 2014-2015</p>

<p>The University’s application for admission and scholarships must be completed by December 15.</p>

<ul>
<li>Grade point averages for 9th-11th grade are the only years reviewed for scholarship consideration.</li>

<p>** Please note that the national December ACT and SAT results are the last college entrance examination results accepted for students who wish to be considered for scholarships.</p>

<p>Out-of-State</p>

<p>The Honors College</p>

<p>Future Students starting Fall 2014 may apply to the Honors College after they have been admitted to The University of Alabama. Admission to the Honors College requires a 28 ACT or 1250 SAT and a minimum 3.5 high school GPA. You will be notified of your acceptance via email. (If your test scores are below the Honors College requirement, you can be admitted later after you have successfully achieved a 3.3 in your college coursework.)</p>

<p>Current UA Students with at least 12 UA hours and a minimum 3.3 overall GPA and Incoming Transfer Students with at least 12 overall hours and a minimum 3.3 overall GPA will be accepted to the Honors College upon submission of their applications. Starting Fall 2014, all Current UA Students must apply within their first academic year on campus to be eligible for admission. All students who apply with greater than 60 hours are required to draft a plan to finish all honors coursework prior to admission. You will be notified of your acceptance via email.</p>

<p>These are motels to AVOID. They don’t fit the “just need a clean place to sleep” minimum standard.</p>

<p>There are a few yucky motels in Ttown and Rodeway is one of them. It doesnt seem to stop those places from charging high rates during peak times.</p>

Baymont Inn & Suites</p>

<p>There may be a couple of others, but those I know for sure to avoid. The problem is that those places have become targets for rather vagrant people. People who don’t have apts or homes, so they rent by the day/week at those places.</p>

<p>LaQuinta seems clean inside, but it’s in a sketchy area that I wouldn’t recommend.</p>

<p>A Tradition of Innovative and Intensive Education
The Interim Program is an innovative and intensive educational experience with courses offered between terms (“Interim”); Winter Interim between the fall and spring semesters and Summer Interim between spring semester and the summer term.* Interim Program courses are often creative and experimental, ranging from international and domestic travel to explore many topics of interest, to intensive seminars in psychology, experiential courses in business and independent projects designed by individual students.* Winter Interim is designed for on-line and travel courses only and is conducted during the winter break. <em>Summer Interim is held for a three week period in May and is the first part of the summer term.</em> Each Interim term offers numerous courses including some regular semester courses and many courses designed especially for the Interim term. Virtually all of the University’s schools and colleges participate in the program, which is coordinated through the Office for Academic Affairs.</p>

<p>Registration for Winter Interim courses is a part of the registration procedure for spring semester.* Summer Interim course registration is a part of the registration procedure for the summer term and fall semester.
