Does anyone know of a link on the UCLA website that contains information about employment/salary for undergraduate majors after graduation, thanks.

anyone? 10char

Yeah go to USNEWS and look up grad schools, I think UCLA has biz school graduates salaries, I don't know about after just ur 4 year degree though? What do u want to do, if it liberal arts get ready for about 35-50K a year starting out, that's what u get for thinking u can save the worl, jk playa

I was basically looking for some information that compared the starting salaries and positions of these three majors: Biz/math/regular economics, and computer science.
I know that these are similar, but I was looking for specifics.

is it going to be more tahn 35-50k a year in ANY bachelors field except for engineering

No i was just kidding namaste. But in reality it is much tougher to find a job when u have an anthropolgy degree versus a biz econ degree or engineering degree simply because those kids have tangible skills; knowledge and credentials that can be immediately put to use in the work force, whereas a english major has a "broader" education, in the sense they are less likely to enter a postition immediately. Liberal arts probably ar more apt to pursue a graduate degree in law or psych, but they can still find positions in the media, sales, etc. In no way am i insinuating a liberal arts degree is of lesser value than a bs degree, just making an observation

J-Sus don't really know of any link..sorry all probably make good money. But if youre looking towards straight economics probably more apt to go to grad school to make big bucks...from what I have heard a hot career is going to be health care managment because of all the baby boomers who will be needing health care in the next twenty years, that would follow a bizecon/econ degree but basically all it comes down to is maintaining a high undergrad gpa and going to grad school for an MBA in helathcare management or other fields to make big bucks. Although, I-banking is always hot money just got to work ur ass off

Thanks a lot! Are any of you current econ students at UCLA or know how difficult it is to get accepted into the biz. econ major and how hard the econ courses are (as far as grading curves and competition among students for top grades)?

It's definitely one of the toughest north campus majors. Can't say about south, I'm sure chem or physics is harder. Biz Econ is what everyone shoots for when they start off here, then when u get a few C's and screw up you accept the fact you're just going to do normal econ and maybe minor in accounting. I think u have to take like 8 pre reqs (Not sure of the exact # look it up online) and these pre reqs have to meet a certain primary score, essentially a gpa test (I think a 3.3 or 3.5). What u should eally do is subscribe to econ alert through the carreer center. Grading curves same as all the classes, set at a C+ or B- if u work hard u can get the A. Competition...well its tough because we got a certain group of students who study their ass off and steal all the good grades (JK asians, u guys are the reason were moving up in the rankings). Competition not that tough i u stay on top of it...youll find classes arent that tough if you dont procrastinate, if u do thats when college gets tough.

Thanks a lot for the info, it really helped!

I'm guessing that sazagbruin isn't Asian...

got that right
