Information on Obamacare and Student Loans

Granted, this is from a politician's web site, but it may answer some of your questions.

Weekly Columns - Press Room - U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander

It looks like an op-ed type piece from a senator (Albiet a decently written one). Great if you want an opinion (A purposely slanted one) but terrible if you want straight facts. (Or slightly crooked facts, as I’m sure someone will argue about something.) I find people shut out pieces like these if they don’t agree with the Senator/Party, so I’ll add to what you have with a straight Q&A from the New York Times  :

Or any other Newspaper:

No offense. I just figured the piece focused more on Tennessee students, and I’d add a more universal bit.

I don’t think anybody trusts politicians much, but I doubt the New York Times is much of an improvement. Not exactly a sterling reputation for unbiased reporting.

This post should be moved to where political discussions go.

I do think that discussion of the loan changes is relevant here. If we can keep it civil (and the discussion so far seems to be so), this is good info. Someone else asked what the changes mean for students.

No one has that reputation. However, I did link to an entire archive for ANY news article you wanted from ANY paper. I even made a joke about it, so don’t worry so much

NYT is at least a generally well-known paper, and this portion was an interview with people who know about Loans and aid. I figured I’d add, since the Senator mainly talks about Tennessee and not the US as a whole (Rightfully so, that’s his state.)
