Hey guys,
I am junior and I am planning to apply to the Information Science Major at Cornell CALS next year. Does anyone know how competitive it is to get in? And am I a good fit for the major? I know fit is extremely important at CALS, and I am wondering if my resume so far is a good match:
- I have started a Data Science company with multiple projects geared towards alleviating poverty in low income neighborhoods in my city; attempting to expand to other cities across US and possibly other countries (also looking to get published in the news)
- Currently Contacting Cornell professors to assist with research into intersection of economics and Data Science to help small businesses generate more revenue in low income areas
- Started Data Science Club at my school
- Took hardest Math courses at school with mostly A’s (taking BC Calculus next year)
- 36 on ACT Math, 800 Math II subject Test
General: 3.85 GPA, 35 ACT, Indian Male
I am extremely nervous however because my school changed the grading system last school year because of COVID, and I got a B in Honors Algebra 2. Can anyone please let me know if I am still an overall good fit for Cornell CALS Information Science major?
