Information technology - what is the math like?

I have been considering majoring in information technology. I recently got my SAT score in and found that I managed a 570 on the math section. I've been taking pre-calculus in high school and find that I don't mind it much, although I can get frustrated when too many concepts are introduced at once or I can't get enough practice. My dad passionately warned me against pursuing anything involved in math recently, repeatedly describing my math experiences when I was younger as me being "in hell." It's kind of true, so when I imagine "in hell" as being limited to soldiers being blown apart and screaming for their mothers, or people being tortured, or burned alive, me doing algebra homework appearing alongside those images...it kind of eviscerated my ego (or what I had left of it). Like I said, I don't mind pre-calculus too much, so what should I expect in college if I decide to go through with it?

By the way, a nearby university I may attend requires things like logic and statistics.

I was an MIS major and my school required Calc I and II, there was a Matrices/Vectors class, then Applied Cal I and II. Then some other stuff like accounting, finance, probability, stats. I looked at some other schools and it seems like the minimum is Calculus I and II or Business Calc I and II. My program was Management Information Systems so regular IS may require less math but it depends on the school. Definitely be prepared for math though, that is the reason I changed majors, I hate math and I couldn’t find a decent program without it.
