Informational interviews on campus

My school has an "Employers in Residence" event where some employers from the area come and you can sign up for an informational interview, mock interview, or resume critique and I signed up to do an informational interview with a smaller local bank, Your Community Bank. This is my first semester at this school and I've only been living here, Southern Indiana just north of Louisville for 6 months. My concentration is Business Economics and Public Policy. I think I'd be good at risk management and underwriting so I thought a bank would be a good place to start to get to know someone and gain information. I chose the economics path because I could see myself in many different areas of business and didn't want to limit myself to just one but risk management is a possibility for me. I also planned on going to the career fair later this month but I have a math test that day at the time the career fair starts. Would it look bad if I walk in late since I had a class so skip this one and wait for next semester or walk in late, they'd understand? Considering I'm relatively new to the area and 2 years from graduation, would you say this is a good start to networking and what other recommendations could anyone with more experience with this give me? It's greatly appreciated.
