how severe must an injury be for west point to reject me on R-Day. I am not injured, i just wanted to see if some risks were worth it. can anyone give some insight on this??

From the story I heard today I would not risk any thing major…I talked to a retired Col who heard my son was waiting to hear from admissions at WP. His first words were…“don’t let him play football.” His son had accepted his offer for admission but then but broke his ankle playing football. It required a plate and screws. He had to go thru medical the next year to get cleared. Even though the screws and plate were out for some time, the previous screw holes had not filled in with bone. This put him at risk for fracture and he was denied. He was crushed as WP was his dream from when he was “only a foot high”. He ended up going to a regular college, but unfortunately was devistated by the circumstances and thus at college his grades fell which sealed his fate. Sad but true story.

Every year some kids are hurt right before R-Day.
The injury must be severe enough to keep you from participating fully in CBT.

I saw a family on R-Day whose son learned THAT DAY he was set-back to the following year due to hurting his back lifting weights getting ready for Beast. It DOES happen, so be careful, but be in shape.
