<p>Part II: No Time Off for Summer : Sweat alongside cadets and midshipmen for six weeks of grueling summer training. Each faces and tries to overcome their own mental and physical limitations on land, in the air and at sea.</p>
<p>Part III: Making of an Officer: Seniors at several military academies serve as examples of the high moral standards and honor each institution strives to instill in its students. Course work as well as extracurricular activities are often geared to enhancing these qualities.</p>
<p>Not to burst anyone's bubble, but I have seen the series before and apparently the producers think that there are only four service acadamies, since KP is not even mentioned once, much less filmed. But I guess it's good for getting an overall sense of what these places are like.</p>
<p>Watched the 1st hour of this special and they did not even mention KP at all. At the opening they showed and named the 4 OTHER Federal service academies but did not even mention USMMA.......what's up with that???</p>
<p>Technically, KP is not considered a "Service" Academy, since we do not serve one particular service. we are simply considered a federal academy, so that could be the reason for us not being mentioned</p>
<p>no, i'm pretty sure we're a service academy since we still owe the feds the next 5 years of our lives after graduation. i'd say that qualifies...</p>
<p>"Kings Point serves the Merchant Marine as West Point serves the Army and Annapolis the Navy." Rooselevelt set the mandate, KP is supposed to be on the same footing as the others.</p>
<p>we are nonetheless an indespensable resource to our nation. this academy, although it might seem less glamorous, without the grads from this place, our nation's economy wouldn't be doing so well.</p>
