Hey! I was just named an Intel finalist (for the second time) and I didn’t see a thread for this yet, so I thought I’d make one.
So who else is headed to Pittsburgh this May? How many of you are repeats?
I’m super pumped, despite the fact that I’ve seen a lot on here that being an ISEF Finalist doesn’t really count for much admissions-wise. I think it’ll be an amazing experience regardless.
Hey, I’m a senior and an ISEF finalist too! (I’m from MD) and yeah, its my first time and I’m super excited! Do you know how much registration + any other fees are this year? I’m going to have to be paying out of pocket since I’m not a public school student.
Yeah, I saw it was that much for 2014… what state are you from? @Anonymoose3 se3
@safireonfire, NYS! What about you?

Hello!
I was named an Intel finalist a few weeks ago from my regional fair. It’s my first time qualifying for ISEF, so I was wondering, after filling out the ISEF Finalist Questionnaire, are finalists supposed to receive an email from ISEF / SRC confirming that the forms have been received or approved? I ask because I have not yet received such an email.
@coffeenlucia Hey! Naaw, I just submitted my finalized questionnaire, and didn’t get any confirmation, but it showed everything checked off. I asked my coordinator to check though, and she said it was complete.
On another note though, something fishy is going on with my county. I’m not a public school student, so the fair directors told me that I’d have to pay for everything (registration fee, hotel, transportation) which would amount to about $1500. I just found out today, the fair is responsible for all finalists’ costs, no matter if they’re public/private/homeschooled students. I called ISEF this morning, and they told me that what the county officials are doing is basically illegal and totally not allowed. Just a head’s up for anyone who’s county might be involved with fraud.
Here’s the link for future reference, its under the title “Cost For Finalists”.

Good luck to all ISEF 2015 attendees.
