So I have been doing research at a nearby university about asphaltenes in oil and some advanced stuff. I wanted to present my findings in Intel ISEF. The problem is that most of the research I have done with a graduate student, and is merely a subset of what my professor is doing. The grad student might also write a paper on it. Am I still allowed to present it at Intel?

Why don’t you send off a note to the Intel people to ask?
Talk to the grad student/professor about what is normal in presenting research.
I would imagine you would have to talk about what you specifically did.
Intel ISEF is not just something you can enter if you want to. First you have to qualify through a regional fair which funds your trip. Some regions are far easier than others. I don’t know how yours is but mine was intensely competitive. You should be fine. To be completely honest, there are kids at ISEF who win 10k+ awards who have not done almost anything on their own.
@JRawth Yeah I know, I head that the reigional science fair carries many of the same rules, so I was checking to make sure for both.
