hey im applying ed to upenn. a couple questions:

1) does penn “quota the intended majors” ie, are there spots that go to some under-repped majors.

2) do my ec’s need to be in good allignment with my intended major (i have a lot of debate ec’s and student government ec’s, could i make it in a non-humanities major [to get admitted] with little to no ec’s in that area?

thanks.

so does anyone the answer to the quandry?

While having EC's that show participation in activities related to your field, it is not necessary to have a specific type of EC. While it would be great to have some EC's that give you some basic "experience" in your intended major, they are not based upon your intended major. EC's in general show how well rounded you are and how you like to divide your time.

I don't think any school fills a certain quota because college students change their major so much. College is a time when you explore what you want to do and most of the time it changes from what you thought you wanted to do.
