so im kinda in a very big pickle here. i let this semester get very out of hand, and am on track to fail math 16b this semester . ive never failed a class before in my life and honestly never thought i would ever be in this position, it is mortifying. i could MAYBE pull out with a c- if i do really really well on the final, but thats being very optimistic. i saw that if you fail a class at berkeley and retake it, your newest grade is what is factored into your gpa. After this semester (2nd semester as a freshman) i will have all of my prereqs completed to be able to apply to the public health major. Online it says you have to have at least a c- in all of your prerequisite courses, i am wondering if this means that I will not be allowed to apply if i originally failed a class. or if that means i can retake math 16b again fall semester of my sophomore year, presumably do way better, bump my UC gpa up and then apply in the fall (december) in hopes of getting in? is this in any way feasible- what are my options here?
thanks so much
