I'm listing FroSoCo as my first choice. But I'm not sure what to do for second choice if i don't get accepted to FroSoCo. Does anyone know what the admisson rate is?

I heard it's about 25%, but I'm not entirely sure.

Noooooooo!!! only 25%?? Wow, I really need to find a viable second choice then

I haven't heard that...wow! Where'd you get that stat ForeverZero?

I've heard this year it will be better because there aren't as many sophomores staying. My second choice is SLE, as I mentioned. I was told by the Approaching Stanford people to rank it as both my number two housing and IHUM choice. If you're not interested in SLE, I've heard four class housing is good if you want quiet and all frosh is good for socialization. Also, the all frosh dorms are nicer.

I'm not sure I want all of the structure of SLE so FroSoCo does sound interesting, kind of a happy medium between SLE and regular dorms. A nice way to get in more college within a college extra learning, and still have free time.

Bit of a tangent, does anyone else think the abbreviation is a bit annoying? I mean it doesn't really roll of the tongue, or the fingers for that matter.

I think both SLE and FroSoCo are annoying abbreviations. SLE is too euphonic - sounds a lot like a Harry Potter curse. FroSoCo sounds like something you say when you're trying to cough will coughing. The best abbreviations are three letters and end with a good consonant.

Right. Zeller, I agree. I actually like the structure of SLE, but there are other aspects I'm weary of. I think it will be a good choice for me if I don't get in FroSoCo (which is likely if it has a 25% acceptance rate - it's like applying to college all over again).

I heard that number at Admit Weekend. They said they accept about a quarter of the freshmen who apply (a lot apply because of the appeal of the two-room doubles).

Ahhhh... you've got to be kidding me! 25%? UGH, this is like college applications all over again.

Noooo. That's Terrible!

Anybody have any insight on the actual application for FroSoCo? All they ask is this:

The number of students who wish to live in Freshman-Sophomore College exceeds the number of available slots. Use the space below to tell us why you would like to live in Freshman-Sophomore College. Please do not exceed the space provided.

Are they looking for a straightforward answer, a creative response, or what?

Wish I knew. Anyone in FroSoCo listening in want to tell us the gist of what you wrote? My guess is they probably want some valid reason that isn't "Well, I hear you have nice double dorm rooms..."
