<p>UMass - Amherst has a good reputation in CS, so it is not exactly a top secret.</p>

<p>Perhaps it is only a “dirty little secret” to people who are school-prestige-obsessed and think that a “lowly state school” cannot have good students attending?</p>

<p>The author of the blog went to UMass Amherst, so he’s touting his school. Still, I’m sure the programmers coming out of there are competent enough.</p>
