Can someone share experience/comments on Interlochen? is the selection hard? how does it run? Do kids like it? is it considered to be prestigious (in terms of college admission)? and so on. We are considering to have D. apply for either writing, or movie making session there next summer.

You might try posting this out on the parent forum if you don’t get many responses out here. I grew up in Michigan, and Interlochen was considered very prestigous for music. Just don’t know about the other programs. I don’t know if you have visited, but it is a lovely site. If your kid is talented in the areas you mentioned, I am sure they will have a great experience. And when it comes to prestige for college applications, honestly, it is more what you kids get out of whatever program they did than whether they attended a specific program like Interlochen. If it suits their talents, they can grow from the experience, and you can afford it, I would say to go ahead with it.

My kid attended Interlochen for music camp for two years and absolutely LOVED it.

Try posting on the music majors forum. Lots of invaluable information there.

Well, the OP is not considering sending their kid to Interlochen for music… so that really won’t be very helpful, I think. For generic info, of course. But probably not to answer the OP’s questions.
