International Affairs + Economics = a practical Philosophy + History?

I've been wanting to major in something within the humanities but recently had a change of heart. I feel that it would just be too self-indulgent to spend four years of my life reading Shakespeare when there's so many more useful things I could be doing. :/

International affairs and economics - these are intriguing to me but I'm not quite sure what they are. Seems to me there's a good bit of theory like in philosophy, some history, some mathematics... Do you think it is similar to Philosophy and history and a good option for a liberal arts minded person who would like to have a job after school?

I think Economics is a pretty good major.

It’s a good balance of learning.

Do you have any idea what economics or intl affairs majors actually do?? jobs, classes wise

I don’t know anything about an international affairs curriculum, but classes wise in economics, you’ll typically take this sequence:

Introduction to Economics
Statistical Methods in Economics
Intermediate Microeconomics
Intermediate Macroeconomics
Econometrics
+some electives (development economics, public finance, money and banking, etc).
+Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Multivariate Calculus, and Linear Algebra
(More math if you’re going to grad school)

D: i hate calculus. but thanks :)
