International Olympiad of Linguistics?

How do you enter this? I live in the US and my school doesn't have a team??

Maybe you could make one. That’s what I’m going to do for the USAPO.

I don’t know about the olympiad of linguistics, but I’m shooting for USNCO (Chemistry Olympiads) and there are local sections where you go to take the test. However, it could be like USAMO (Math Olympiads) and you can have a teacher supervise you taking the test during math team/club.

You don’t need a team, the competition is individual until the international level.

^ I’m pretty sure that’s not what they meant. Students in a school taking the same test are usually in a club/team because the teacher/proctor has to register them all and it’s easier to organize.

BTW - at the international level you still compete as individuals but you’re assessed as a team (that’s why students on the same team recieve different medals).

You could start a team, or look into neighboring schools that have one.

Alternatively, check out: NACLO[/url”>NACLO]NACLO

I think you can just register on the NACLO website to take it a site close to you. That’s what my friend did. He got 1st place in the entire nation on the first NACLO exam then didn’t do as well on the semifinal exam so he didn’t make the ILO team.
