<p>I know that Rice is very renowned for its hard science but I was curious how the Humanities are. Specifically the international relations major. It seems like being in Houston is a great place to be. But how does the program compare to other international relations programs?</p>
<p>There is no international relations major, but you can concentrate in IR within the political science major, which is actually in the School of Social Sciences, not Humanities. I'm a POLI major (double with English), though I'm probably concentrating in comparative rather than IR. I've taken a few IR classes, though, and I've really enjoyed them. And the Baker Institute for Public Policy is a fantastic resource, especially if you're interested in Middle Eastern policy.</p>
