Just a question, which was on maths section, I can remember a bit of it.

It was like, if there are 4 integers that sum up to make 250, if the least and the highest value is taken out, the sum is 150. Then what must be true?

My answer was the “a>0” what did you guys chose for this question?

I wrote a + z = 100.

Basically: I think there was a z variable, but I can’t remember, so let a<b<c<d; a + b + c + d = 250; b + c = 150

Thus, a + b + c + d - (b + c) = 250 - 150

so a + d = 100

interesting, i was about to chose that answer, but one thing poped in mind.

a + d can not always be 100 :S maybe it could be other values?

for example a could be 1 , d could be 130 e.t.c

how much marks do you lose if you get it wrong? :S

Yes a + z = 100.

Funny how I thought I had to give up on the ‘fraction remains the same’ question. I omitted it at first, but worked on it (on the booklet) during other sections and finally figured out the trick : -1 = 1/(-1). That was the trickiest question for me ;)

@ Fluffin: yeah I think CR was not really easy, but it is interesting so we feel less pain going through it I had about 7 minutes to finish the Caravan passage so I really rushed through it, filled the bubbles cursorily and came back filled the bubbles properly when I was done with section 10

The writing section with the Williams sisters is experimental and tough. While in the universal sections I got the lions question wrong :(

CR > Writing > Math.

@DinhNguyen

the fraction question was indeed tricky, I just plugged in and got the answer lol.

btw how much marks do you lose if you get an answer wrong?

btw guys what predictions do you make for the grade boundary to be for maths to acheive 700+?

^ I thought plugging in was the only way to get the answer lol But the question’s trick is that if we take -1 as -1/1 we could not get to the right answer.

I even thought “Do I remember denominator/numerator correctly? Or is it the other way around?” lol

Ok I already talked too much and am definitely going to take some sleep. G’night guys :D

Someone predicts on CR dummies plz convince me … I’m totally confused!

hey guys… there was a question with vehemently???

and another one with ire???

also what did you guys get for the one with the commercialization of the universities??
What in passage one most directly contradicted with the statement in passage 2?
i answered that the university condoned the withholding of the report, since the decision was not that of the university’s but of the company with the contract.

yo does anyone remember the answer to that question where they asked about what the string represented or something like that?

What about the little passage about a grandma in the cellar? I chose “strong personality” and “domineering”.

Math went fine; writing annoyed me. the last section…I kept getting E. For the essay, I made up some stuff about how it misleads people and used aggasi + Gandi.

What was the answer to the last question in section 10: “were they to be told…”?

I wrote scientifically- random philosophers don’t generally examine gene maps.

I put B. What’d you think of section 10?

@ecouter i didn’t get many E’s in the writing section…
they had a lot of messed up ones this time, such as incorrect use of verb in context. So grammatically, it was correct, but it didnt make sense :/

Hmm, I dunno I thought there were fairly evident problems doe most of them. Direct hits was amazing for CR- protean and convivial were both on there. Infitessimal wasn’t but I knew that from calculus. Curve predictions?

I think the one with the Williams sisters was the experimental section. There were too many strange questions on that one.

It is that one. I remember having trouble with it cuz the questions were rather awkward.

I think there were two 8’s in the grid-ins?

Anyways, somehow I don’t remember a William’s sisters passgae (though I do remember 4 CR sections).
I thought writing MC was easier than normal.

@ secondplace : The Wiilliams sisters passage is in Writing experimental.

“Were they to be told” sounds awkward, but that’s the only one that is grammatically correct to me ="= I think the smooth sentence is “If they were told that …, they …” → both nouns are about the same subject. “By telling them that …, they…” makes no sense, because this means that the second “they” do something by TELLING the first “them” blah blah blah information. And then we have no idea who the heck the first “them” is.

Or the less wordy passive answer could be “Were they told that…”.
