Students with published papers in journals are given high considerations at university right? I wanted to know which journals I should approach and also which journals are recognised internationally?

Hey! I’m not so sure whether they do that. I mean only professors and senior researchers are allowed to publish papers in international journals like Journal of Physics because they receive high amounts of funding and are able to make ground breaking research. Unless there’s a chance of you doing that, I don’t think international journals publish papers. Most universities now look at a more holistic development in students rather than just muggers with high grades ( esp in US). If you have the time, brush up on your ECAs and participate more in olympiads and seminars (universities love to see ppl who participate)

reddot, Thank you, but my point in asking that was, are there any journals that specifically publish papers submitted by high school students?

I’m not so sure in India but I think in US they may have. You could always google it up. Like in the junior college I study now in SG, the jc under ministry regulations allows students who excel in certain subjects to pair up with a mentor who’s a professor in the JC to do research and publish the findings as a part of board exams syllabus (not considered under the core science/arts subjects) gives edge in university entrance or scholarships but not a core criteria. There maybe in India but I don’t think schools offer it yet. This maybe more applicable for Masters degree where US unis offer more chances to higher studies. Hope that helped :)

yes, i have googled it. but the problem is, these journals are not very recognised. :/

Aw man…but I don’t think it really matters as long as you have done some ground breaking work to do research and publish a paper. I think unis will give credit no matter how unrecognised the journal is as long you mention it to them.

that is good to know…
