International Student Financial Aid Application!

Does putting in less assured support reduce your chances of getting admission? I am still confused wheather my family would be willing to pay $xx,xxx per month for an average liberal arts college?

Please.. HELP!

Hello, fellow Pakistani! (I used to live in Islamabad, too.)

I think putting in less does reduce your chances, though I put less because I know my parents aren't going to pay $50,000 or so for a liberal arts college. Or even $20,000. On a couple of the applications I've sent in so far I've put in how much I think my parents will be willing to give. It does say somewhere on all apps that you should know that you and your family are responsible for funding your education.

HOWEVER, many schools do not reject your application because you cannot afford the tuition. Check if your college has need-blind admissions. :)

Nice to know that, MimbleWimble!

My friend applied to Trinity last year. He had $6,250 assured support. When his decision came out, the college asked him to contribute only $4,500.

I don't think my colleges are need-blind. Eventhough, $10,000 per year is affordable but I wouldn't wanna pay that for an econ major at a liberal arts college.

Thanks for your reply, by the way.
